Eczema Herpeticum And Your Questions?

Sandy asks…

Eczema Herpeticum ?

My nephew had an episode of excema herpeticum, the skin has healed. Is there any potenial dangers still? He did not take any antiviral meds. I was completetly blown off by the dermatoligist, but I am sure that is what happened.
The signs were gone before I seen the Dr.

Herschel Lawhorn answers:

The dermatologist should know what hes talking about. Perhaps ask for a second opinion if you seriously doubt his diagnosis

Acne medication/dry skin?

Ok so I currently am using some acne cream on my skin before bed to prevent breakouts as I used to have bad acne. The problem is it makes my skin really really dry and when I wake up in the morning my skin is starting to peel and flake. The medication is working as it has cleared up my acne but the flaking and peeling is annoying. It’s not that big of a deal because I use a moisturizer after my shower in the morning so it’s not flaky during the day however I still don’t want it flaking at night. My guess is that it’s the laying on my pillow that causes my dry skin to peel. So my question is after I apply the acne cream can I wait for it to dry then apply my moisturizer and then go to bed? or will the moisturizer lessen the effect of the acne medication even if I let it dry?

Acne Cyst And Your Questions?

Jenny asks…

acne cyst?

I had an acne cyst in between my boobs about a month ago, the dr put me on some meds to get rid of the congestion in my chest since it was inverted and some cream for the pimple on the outside, then it went away. Now its coming back, any suggestions?

Herschel Lawhorn answers:

What makes a cyst a cyst is the formation of a capsule.
An acne cyst is a build up of sebum which has encapsulated.
Sometimes they can be treated with anti biotics but this only solves half of the problem. The capsule is still there. Which is why sometimes they comeback.
The only option to make sure it never comes back is to sugically remove the capsule.
